The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has been informed of the circulation of suspected counterfeit Augmentin 625mg Tabs in the country.

The information revealed that the supply came from Onitsha, Anambra State, and was

Manufacturing date: April 2021

Expiry date: April 2024.

Nafdac Reg No: 04-1928.

Labelling Lapses:

The product failed short of the following labeling requirements.

•No inscription of manufactured by written on the label, only the address.

•Manufacturing and Expiry dates don’t meet the acceptable format.

•No MAS scratch number for verification.

•The logo “gsk” is not properly positioned as on the original.

The above information makes the drug suspected as counterfeit.
