The law of financial prosperity

Your life is going to change financially overnight. But if you are not prepared for that one night, you might be stuck for the next 10 years. It takes just one moment. And everything changes. One phone call, one meeting, one text, and everything changes. And you’re going to recognize it. But will you prepare for it while you can’t see it coming?

The Law of Prosperity

The law of prosperity is this — you get what you prepare for. If you prepare to have millions, you will have millions. If you prepare to barely get by, that is what will happen.

If you save for rainy days, just go buy an umbrella. That’s because you are going to get a lot of rainy days. If you prepare to live in a tiny apartment, that is where you will live. If you prepare to live in a mansion, that’s where you would live.

Now, don’t get this confused. There are people who think they satisfied this law of prosperity in the past and didn’t get the desired outcome. But they didn’t. Wishing for things and preparation are two different things.

You can wish for prosperity and prepare for poverty. Apparently, lots of people are very good at that. And the reason they are good is that they picked it from their parents.

I’ll never forget the story of the woman who always cuts off the chicken limbs while roasting chicken. One day her husband confronted her at a family meeting. Turns out she does it because her mother does it.

So they went to meet the mother to ask why she does it. And then found out that the mother does it because she saw the grandmother do it. Interestingly, the grandmother was there at that gathering, so they all went to her hoping to get a final answer.

The grandmother smiled and said that during her time as a young mom, they were poor and had a very small oven. And had to cut the chicken limbs so the chicken would fit in the oven. That was quite hilarious.

The next two generations picked up that habit without knowing why. Even though they had bigger ovens now, the habit they got from their poor background still stayed.

So, when people say they are expecting prosperity, watch what they do. And ask them why they are doing it.

Let me make this easy for you. Your life today is what you prepared for 10 years ago. Your little tiny choices added up to what you have or don’t have today.

If you want a different future, change what you are preparing for. Let me show you 5 little ways to prepare for wealth and success.

  1. Give Things in Good Condition

Many people say that can’t give because they don’t have. And that is not true. You can give. There is something you have that would be worth a fortune to someone else.

Never let things decay in your hands. Don’t use things to the point of destruction. If you have the habit of using things until you have to throw them away, you are attracting poverty.

Give away your sneakers when they are still in good condition. Give out your clothes when they still look awesome. If you can’t sell them at the point you gave them out, you went too far.

Stop using things to the point of decay. If you have anything you have repaired more than twice, you should now be thinking of giving it away.

In fact, my rule is that if I have to repair anything, I’m repairing it so I can give it out (or resell it) in good condition. Nothing attracts wealth like this simple thing.

It looks simple. It sounds simple. But it is so powerful. It is easy to do. It is also very easy not to do.

  1. Reward Yourself

Celebrate tiny victories. It’s easy to get caught up in the big picture and refuse to celebrate the tiny victory of today because there is still a long journey ahead.

But that is not wealth-inducing. While it is important not to get carried away by celebration and stuff like that. It is important to celebrate milestones. It is important to celebrate progress.

Problems never end. If you don’t celebrate today, you will not celebrate what you think is much bigger (when you get there). This is because by the time you get there, you will be eyeing something even more prolific.

Celebrate yourself. Create memories. Create moments. It is in these happy moments that we find landmark opportunities.

The world is designed to give you more of what you already have. So, if you “have” a celebration, the world will give you more things to celebrate. So, nothing is too small. Celebrate it.

At least, once a month, find something to celebrate. It might be with just pizza and some Apple juice. Still celebrate. And the celebration will keep getting better.

  1. Buy New Things

As much as you can, don’t buy used or refurbished things. While you may need to continue with that for certain things, start practicing buying new things.

Buy it new. Use it for a while. Then, resell it or give it away. This is the pattern of life you should start following. Bring new things into your life.

Now don’t confuse this with obsessive consumption. You can get very selective with what you buy. But be sure to buy them new from the official source.

Let’s say you live in a city. And you can’t afford most of what you use brand new. Then go buy something you can afford that is brand new. It could be as simple as wall art from a street artist. You bought it from the source, brand new. That is the energy you want to keep around you.

  1. Live in a Clean House

This is especially when it is rented and you don’t like your landlords. If you are planning to move to somewhere better, first make the place you are as good as it can possibly be.

A few years back, I made the decision to hire a cleaner that would come clean my house once a week. Since I made that decision, I have lived in 3 houses.

If you don’t like where you are, then let it remind you of where you hope to be. Make it as good as it can get. I am very organized and neat. But still, I have someone else come clean up every week.

You can’t attract prosperity when you live in a dirty house. Never say, “It’s not my job to do that”. Yes, it’s not your job but it is affecting you. You may be in a studio apartment today, but you can make it so good that someone who lives in a mansion would be jealous.

Cleanliness is more important than space. Think about this:

If someone walked into your room with a check for 1 million dollars, would they still want to give it to you after seeing how your room looks?

A clean house attracts wealth.

  1. Do Little Things Exceptionally

Your biggest break will not come from a glamorous opportunity presented to you from the blues. Instead, it will come by doing little things with top-notch excellence.

You never chase success. If you do, it will always evade you. The more you chase, the more it runs. So, sit with what is in your hands and do a magnificent job with it.

The pay might not be worth it, but do something you are proud of. Do something that you can present to anyone with big smiles, saying, “I did that”.

This is very important especially if you are a creative. You must be wary of doing things that you cannot claim ownership of. You have to be proud of what you do.

Of course, there are people who will reject it or say it is not good enough. But when you find someone who loves it, they stay connected with your work for life. They become evangelists of your talents. They talk about you in places your feet have never stepped into.

It is in being exceptional at small things that make you get big opportunities. If you have never been exceptional at something small, how can you say you are preparing for big things?

Big opportunities come to those who are exceptional at small things

If you cannot display your potential at something very small, then no one will be comfortable giving you something big. Don’t beg for a big chance. Squeeze your best into the tiny little chance you have. Someone will see that and give you a slightly bigger chance. And it goes on and on like that until that windfall chance lands.

I’ll never forget what Cillian Murphy said about the hit TV show, Peaky Blinders. It started as a show with a little ad budget that got no mainstream attention. And it picked up mainly through word-of-mouth. And now, it has made him a top-tier actor that has a lead role in a blockbuster movie like Oppenheimer.

It’s the tiny opportunities that count. Imagine if he turned down Peaky Blinders because it was not a good fit for him. It’s the small opportunities. Stop looking for a good fit. Put your best into that which is before you.

Be exceptional at small opportunities.

Conclusion

These 5 simple things will attract riches and wealth into your life;

Give things in good condition
Reward yourself
Buy new things
Live in a clean house
Do little things exceptionally
