The Supreme Court last Friday ruled in its lead decision, read by Justice Emmanuel Agim, that Buhari’s authorisation for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to withdraw the old banknotes was illegal.

Despite the ruling of the Supreme Court, President Buhari and the CBN have failed to issue statements on the next step following the court’s judgement.
