Life is temporary, everyone you meet, everything you buy our own is temporary. All that you worked for will be gone one day and eventually, people will forget it. So whilst you still have the chance and are strong don’t take opportunities for granted, go for them. After all, even one day everyone will leave this world.

  1. Life Isn’t Fair

“Nothing in the universe can stop you from letting go and starting over.”

— Guy Finley
Sad but true. The promotion will probably go to someone who’s been smooth-talking the boss, despite the fact that you’re more qualified and work harder.

She might like the douchebag more, despite you thinking that you’d be the perfect fit for her. You’re experiencing life through your own eyes. So you are going to be biased no matter what.

We do not live in a perfect world even if you did, it wouldn’t care much for you as an individual. It’s 8 billion of us, the world doesn’t owe you anything. Just because you think you deserve something; doesn’t mean you’re going to get it.

  1. Others Treat You The Way, You Treat Yourself, Not Them

“You only struggle because you’re ready to grow but aren’t willing to let go.”

— Drew Gerald
The way you present yourself, what you think of yourself, who you are as an individual, are all in your control.

You can choose to grow, to learn, to improve. You- as an individual — are the sum of your experiences and beliefs. Once you fully accept a different set, the entire perception of the world about you will change.

Have more respect for yourself, even demand it. Stand up for what you believe and do not let others walk over you. It’s these small things that will hurt you when you get older.

  1. The Sacrifices You Make Today Will Pay Dividends In The Future

“No matter how much suffering you went through, you never wanted to let go of those memories.”
― Haruki Murakami
It’s always easier to see where you could’ve done better when you look back to the past. Many of them agree that with just a bit more strategic play they could’ve been in a way better position than they find themselves right now.

They all regret not reading earlier on and none of them remembers any of the time we wasted watching TV. If they were smarter with their time, they wouldn’t have sacrificed as much as they had.

So, before it’s too late, do something great today that your future self will thank you.

  1. Fear Of Embarrassment Or Criticism Stopped You From Being Who You Really Are.

“Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.”
― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart
It who do do you want to be? Will you be yourself, or will you will you be someone who other people are expecting you to be?

You get one shot at life, so., Might as well go for it! The main reason most people fail at anything in life is that they don’t even give it a go.

We all find excuses or try to shield our perceived image from what other people might think of us, but in the end, they don’t matter. It’s a choice you have to make yourself.

“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.”

— Robert Frost
