1. INEC Presents Certificate Of Return To Tinubu As President-elect

The candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the just concluded presidential election, Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the President-elect of Nigeria.

The former Lagos Governor was on Wednesday morning declared the winner of the election, which was contested by 18 political parties.

He defeated Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party who occupied the second and third places respectively.

Tinubu got 8,794,726 votes from the 24,025,940 total valid votes cast, according to the Chief Returning Officer and Chairman of INEC, Mahmoud Yakubu while declaring the results.

2. Peter Obi’s Running Mate Breaks Silence As INEC Declares Tinubu Winner Of 2023 Presidential Poll

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has reacted to the emergence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the February 25th presidential election winner.

Recall, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the former Governor of Lagos State as the winner of the fiercely contested position after amassing higher voter turnout ahead of his counterparts from other political parties.

From the outcome of results presented to INEC by State Collation Officers, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, came second behind Tinubu while Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi, emerged third in the race.

As one of the top four major contenders for the nation’s number one political position, the New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, came far fourth in the race.

Speaking on behalf of Obi in a press conference after Tinubu’s declaration, the vice presidential candidate of the party, Baba-Ahmed said the Labour Party won the presidential election and would reclaim its mandate in due course.

He noted that since election results were unable to be transmitted electronically, there was no election.

3. Obaseki Rejects Presidential Election Results, Reveals PDP’s Next Step

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has saluted Edo people for their peaceful and orderly conduct during Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections, noting that the outcome of the poll was unacceptable.

In a statement, the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Hon. Chris Nehikhare, said the governor urges Edo people to remain calm and not take any action which will undermine security and lead to the destruction of property.

Nehikhare noted, “The Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, thanks the good people of Edo State, for the peaceful and orderly conduct during the general elections held on February 25.

“The result of the election is unacceptable to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and we will duly seek redress through legal means, as outlined in the Nigerian constitution to ensure that wrongs perpetuated in the electoral process are righted.

“Just like the PDP, most of our people are unhappy with the outcome of the election and we have every right to be, but we plead for calm and restraint and urge that you do not take any action that will worsen the current situation.”

He further noted, “We must not take any action which will undermine our security and lead to the destruction of property.

4. “I Know Many Did Not Vote For Me” – Tinubu’s Speech As He Gets Certificate Of Return As Nigeria’s President-elect

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu has gotten his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the president-elect of Nigeria.

The certificate presentation was done on Wednesday in Abuja at the International Conference Centre (ICC) by the INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu.

The APC Vice Presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima was also presented with his certificate of return at the same event.

Speaking after getting his certificate, Tinubu said he understands many Nigerians didn’t vote for him and are disappointed their own candidate didn’t win the election but everyone must put elections aside and work together for the sake of the country.

The former Lagos State Governor who described himself as a servant of the people added that the road has been long, and the battle has been hard but he is grateful for the victory and opportunity to serve Nigeria.

He promised to work day and night to make Nigeria better and give the youths and women of the country a sense of belonging.

5. Police Arraign Reps Majority Leader, Doguwa Over Killings In Kano

The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Wednesday arraigned Al-Hassan Ado Doguwa, the lawmaker representing Doguwa/Tundun Wada Federal Constituency, in over the killings in his constituency during the last Saturday’s elections.

Doguwa, the majority leader of the House of Representatives, was arrested on Tuesday at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) following the murder of three persons in the area.

In a statement earlier on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer in Kano, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, had said that Doguwa was apprehended after he failed to honour police invitation.

The police spokesperson said investigation was ongoing, noting that other suspects at large would be arrested.

6. What Buhari Said After INEC Declared Tinubu As President-elect

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the winner of the (2023) Presidential Election, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The President in his congratulatory message on Wednesday, described Tinubu as the best man for the job.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Wednesday, March 1, declared the APC candidate as the winner of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

Reacting, President Buhari said the current election cycle is a very competitive one and a pointer to the growing democracy in Nigeria, adding that the result reflects the wish of the people.

According to Buhari, the competitiveness of the 2023 election is reflected in him losing Katsina State and Tinubu also losing in Lagos State.

He thereafter urged all politicians, particularly those who participated in the election to come together and build the country in the interest of all Nigerians.

7. Police Speak On Arrest Of BVAS Syndicate Over Manipulation Of 2023 Election

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has given a clarification on the arrest of a criminal syndicate engaging in electoral fraud in the federal capital territory (FCT).

Suspected BVAS syndicate were apprehended by the police on Tuesday in a sting operation on Ghandji street in the Maitama area of the FCT, Abuja.

The police were said to have taken the suspects into custody and are investigating the illegal possession and suspected manipulation of the BVAS in the 2023 election.

One of the suspects arrested is said to be the Vice President of an IT company known as Emperor technology.

In a statement, on Wednesday, Police force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi disclosed that the police visited the location, and some electoral materials, including BVAS machines, were discovered.

The police also confirmed that the occupants of the house are staff of Emperor Technology, a firm outsourced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide engineering services for the 2023 election and they have been released.

Nigeria’s President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has set a message to Nigerian youths after his emergence as the winner of the 2023 presidential election.

In his acceptance speech read at his campaign council headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, Tinubu said he fully understands the pains and yearnings of Nigerian youths for good governance and a safe nation.

The president-elect asserted that he has heard them loud and clear, stressing that the outcome of Saturday’s Presidential election has shown the power of Nigerian youths.

He said: “Now, to you, the young people of this country, I hear you loud and clear. I understand your pains, and your yearnings for good governance, a functional economy, and a safe nation that protects you and your future.

“I am aware that for many of you, Nigeria has become a place of abiding challenges limiting your ability to see a bright future for yourselves.

“Remodeling our precious national home requires the harmonious efforts of all of us, especially the youth. Working together, we shall move this nation as never before.”

Receiving Governor Aminu Bello Masari and the Emir of Daura, Dr. Umar Faruk Umar, who led members of their cabinets on separate visits, President Buhari reiterated what he had often said about the President-elect that “Bola Tinubu truly believes in Nigeria and is genuinely committed to the progress and sustainable future of Nigeria.”

He thanked the electorate for their massive support for the APC in the Presidential and the National Assembly elections, asking them to further mobilize for the upcoming gubernatorial and Houses of Assembly elections.

President Buhari profusely thanked the people for supporting him for two terms in office, which he will complete on May 29, 2023.

The Emir said they had visited the President to congratulate him on the outcome of the elections, and commended him for preserving Nigeria as an indivisible entity.

He described the preservation of the country as historic achievement.

The Emir said he was proud of his people in Daura who did not fail the President and his party in the elections.
