Create a Morning Routine

A morning routine with a typical wake time, a healthy breakfast, and some exercise is a great place to start. Having a more intentional approach to the day early on can help instill self-confidence and lead to a more productive rest of the day.

Set 3 Daily Priorities

This is one of the best productivity strategies there is. We all know that focus is what brings us results.
No focus? No results. So how do you focus? By limiting your options and tasks. Elimination is the key.

Be very clear about what you want to achieve every single day, week, and year. Form the habit of focusing on what matters regularly.
Every day, work on 3–4 essential (and small) tasks that will bring you closer to your weekly and yearly goals.

Practice Gratitude daily

People who regularly practice by taking time to notice and reflect upon the things they’re thankful for, experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have stronger immune systems.

So take some time to reflect and be grateful for the good and bad that has happened to you and see how you will feel later on.

Exercise Everyday

One of the absolute best habits to have in life is to exercise every single day without fail. This isn’t about heavy weightlifting or running a marathon. This is about doing a lightly strenuous activity to oxygenate your blood and boost the endorphins in your body.

Not only will you feel physically better when you start this habit, but you’ll also feel more motivated, have more mental clarity, and be more emotionally sound. Exercise releases dopamine, oxytocin, and serotonin into the system, giving an almost euphoric effect without the usage of any drugs whatsoever.

Meditate Everyday

Call this whatever you’d like, be it meditation or sitting quietly or journaling. The point is, that you need to make time to get in touch with your thoughts.
Aside from the fact that we know meditation is a popular habit among the outrageously successful, I can tell you first-hand that no daily habit has had a bigger impact on my life than meditation.

The point of this habit is to be aware of what is bothering you, or what you’re feeling good about, or what needs to be addressed so that you can get a clear sense of what you need to do next. It’s almost like seeing into the future.

If you can address the problem before it spirals out of control, you’ve saved yourself a lot of time and energy. Or, if you find yourself feeling great and overly ambitious, now might be a good time to take more risks. 15 minutes isn’t that long, just do it.

Read for 30 minutes a day

People vastly underestimate how quickly you can get through a book. Twenty to 30 minutes of reading per day can get you through an average-length book in about two weeks. That’s two books per month, 24 books in a year. Imagine how much more you would know if you read 24 more books in a year.

Thirty minutes is not a lot of time. You could do that on the train. You could do that while waiting in line at the grocery store. Maybe you have to piecemeal 10 minutes here and 20 minutes there, but 30 minutes of reading per day is essential to keeping your brain fresh and the knowledge flowing.

After all, if you’re ever stuck on a project, creative or not, the first question I would ask is, “What are you reading?” Always be studying. Make time to read.

Plan your day the night before

What you do the evening before matters just as much as what you do each morning. In fact, what you do the night before makes it much more likely that you’ll accomplish what you’re aiming to get done on any given day.
Finish each day by writing the 3 most important things you want to get done tomorrow and start each day by working on those three things. You can also schedule those five things on your calendar. It doesn’t matter as long as those five things get done.

The most effective productivity systems are quite simple when you dissect them. But we keep searching for life and productivity “hacks” because doing so ironically makes us feel productive. If you spend an entire day reading articles about productivity, like this one, you’re not productive. The only way you find out if something works for you is to implement it and see what happens.

Conclusion

Starting your day with a healthy morning routine can help you feel more productive and in control. An important part of being able to build and sustain a morning routine is to go to bed on time and get enough rest, so that you can wake up refreshed and ready to go the next morning.

If you’re not a morning person, you can start small. “Even selecting one personally motivating practice can help you bring your attention to that task and be more present in the morning. If the task is rewarding, it may be fulfilling to complete and may motivate a more effective start to the morning”.
