Borrowed Gems That Will Greatly Enrich Your Marriage

Borrowed Gems That Will Greatly Enrich Your Marriage

1. A marriage that is 85 percent positive and only 15 percent negative will appear 90 percent of its time arguing over the 15 percent problem areas.

My Comment

Learn to focus on the positive traits in your spouse. The flame we fan will increase more and more. When we focus on the weaknesses of our spouses, we tend to cause more damage to a loving relationship.

2. Those who want to bail out of marriage when they find faults in their partner will keep divorcing and remarrying in a vain attempt to find a spouse with no sin.

My Comment

You will never find a faultless spouse. You will never find an all rosy relationship, but you can find a loving marriage if you are also ready to do your part and give instead of wanting your partner to give and give and give.

3. The business of marriage is to work on the differences that arise, analyze them, understand and respect each other’s sincerity and goodwill, work out compromise adjustments; and then tackle the slow, discouraging task of changing habit patterns in order to achieve more harmonies cooperation. There is no easy way to do this. There are no shortcuts, no labour saving gimmicks. It can be done only when two people have the resolute will to do it, because the goal is sufficiently important to them both.

My Comment

For a marriage to work as it should work, it will take work on both parties. When we are fortunate to have two willing parties who are committed to their marriage, a lasting bond will be formed that will endure all tests and challenges.
